Meet Mount Saint Vincent
As you may know, DreamWise shuts our doors one day a year to volunteer in our community. For the last few years we have been volunteering at Mount Saint Vincent. Each year we experience a mix of emotions…sadness that those beautiful children were so brutally abused and gratitude for the wonderful people who love them with so much patience and dedication!
Mount Saint Vincent was originally established as an orphanage by the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth in 1883. Today the organization provides clinical treatment for children ages 5 to 12 who have suffered severe physical or sexual abuse, long-term neglect, trauma, or mental illness.
The staff provides traditional and adjunct therapies such as art, music, and animal-assisted, to help children express their trauma stories so they can start their journey toward healing.
Mount Saint Vincent offers intensive 24/7 residential treatment, weekly in-home therapy sessions, and everything in between. Their goal is to release all children to a lower level of care, where they can become happy and productive members of society.
Financial support from our community helps Mount Saint Vincent to treat a fragile population of children in an environment where they are finally safe and loved. DreamWise has been honored to support their fundraising efforts since 2012.
If Mount Saint Vincent is selected by you and other voters DreamWise will proudly donate winter coats, hats and mittens for children who often arrive with just the clothes on their backs.
Please join is in celebrating our 20th Anniversary and supporting our community by voting for Mount Saint Vincent or one of the other nonprofits near and dear to our hearts.
